| Prince Francenn of Ralsand | ||||||
|
Prince Francenn runs a tight ship in the large town of Ralsand, near the confluence of the Harp Rivers. A distant member of the Cranden family, he comes from a long line of capable rulers. He has a reputation as a diviner and an able spellcaster. He inhabits a tower in the center of town and has personal control over the Blue-Liveried cavalry, the famous army of Ralsand. Ryvvik also found out that he is a "secret" member of the Eldritch Lords, who are based out of Rel Deven. He sent us to Oldridge to collect a book from the tower of a mage known as Bigby. payment for his research to cure our friends of their demonic affliction. He lied/ommitted pieces of his story, to legitimize his claim on the book "The Surreptitious Road", telling us that Bigby had contacted him and asked him to get the book for him. Francenn told us that Bigby had been chased out of the Great Kingdom by the Overking , and could not return on pain of death. He gave us a spell he'd created, known as "Francenn's Portal Key" which would open our way to the secret library locke in the tower in Oldridge. He also gave us a spell called "Force Transformation" which would force any shapechanged creature back to it's original form, which would really help us if Isaac or Darcius lost control before we cured them. So we did his little errand, bringing back "The Surreptitious Road" from Bigby's Tower. He informed us that he'd worked out a cure for the First Stage of the infection, and he cured Angele of it. Unfortunately he hadn't worked out the cure for our second stage were-raven buddies. So we're locking them up in his laboratory for the three nights of the next full moon. Our second errand for him involved travelling to Rel Deven, which we were doing anyway, and use a magic wand to divine the nature of the city's magical defenders. These defenders were glowing blue balls that float at random seemingly doing nothing, but they are reputed to be fearsome in defense of the city. Ryvvik handled the petty details of scanning the stones, and we came back to see his Princeness in a month's time. He had not divined a cure for our friends yet, but he told us that the best way to stop the curse would be to find the start of it all and destroy it. Our next visit to Ralsand was a little more spontaneous. After becoming infected on the Wealsun full moon, Cedric, Galen and Oliver went at top speed to see Francenn for the cure for the first stage of the infection. In exchange we were going to birng the very drunk Pince a cask of Fourth generation North Province Brandy. We'll see how that goes. It is also worth noting that his dwarf guards appear to be polymorphed giants under some kind of mind control. |
